For admission to Higher Secondary First Year Class in Arts/ Commerce, a student has to pass the HSLC Examination from SEBA or any other equivalent examination recognized by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council(AHSEC).
For admission to the First Semester B.A./B.Com. course, a student has to pass the Higher Secondary examination under AHSEC or any other equivalent examination recognized by Gauhati University.
Students seeking admission to semester classes from a Board/Council other than AHSEC shall have to pay Eligibility fees as prescribed at the time of admission.
Application for admission into the college should be made in prescribed application form issued by the college office on payment of requisite fee.
Admission to the B.A/B.Com course is held after the announcement of HS IInd Yr (Arts/ Commerce) examination result.
The dates of admission to various classes are notified in the local newspapers and the college notice board.
Admission to the college is made strictly in order of merit and is governed by the college admission rules.
All admissions made are provisional and subject to the approval of the G.U. The college is not responsible if the G.U. does not approve the admission of any student on grounds of non submission of Migration Certificate/ Eligibility fees or for furnishing wrong or false documents and statements.

The decision of the College Authority regarding all admissions is final. The College authority reserves the right to refuse admission to any one without citing any reason.
Selected candidates must get themselves admitted just after the interview by making the requisite payments.
Admission to any course of the college may be cancelled at any time if any information furnished by the candidate at the time of admission is found to be incorrect.

The above mentioned reservation is as per the standing rules of the Government of Assam, subject to the college admission rules. No claim for caste benefit will be entertained if the attested photocopy of the caste certificate issued by the appropriate authority and countersigned by the DC/ADC/SDO/SDC concerned is not submitted along with the application.
Relaxation of norms will be considered for students excelling in extra -curricular activities such as Sports, Culture, N.C.C. and Scouts and Guides, subject to production of supporting documents issued by recognised organisations. (Final Decision will be taken by Admission Committee).
Note: According to the new regulation of Semester Courses (both Arts and Commerce),students will have to get themselves admitted to the next higher class irrespective of their result. (eg. even if a student has failed in the Semester I examination, he/she is allowed to get himself/ herself admitted into Semester II)
